The MakerBot Digitizer
The MakerBot Digitizer Scanning a Gnome

At SXSW Interactive last week, MakerBot announced the MakerBot Digitizer, a 3D scanner prototype that they would be releasing as a commercially available product in the near future. As I mentioned in my wrap-up post about SXSW, and in my portfolio, I had the opportunity to design all of the electronics and firmware being used in the prototype model being displayed by Bre during his keynote address.  I had a blast working on this product.

Obviously, I can’t tell you anything more about the product than what has been announced publicly, but you can check out some of the press that the Digitizer has received across the web.  Sign up on the MakerBot website to be notified when it becomes available!
