Exploring Arduino

In a recent guest post on Amazon.com’s Tech.Book Blog, I explored a modern shift in technologies and education that has made engineering more accessible to the general public than ever before. Here’s an excerpt:

Invention no longer lies squarely in the laps of large engineering firms and international corporations. With the recent proliferation of inexpensive electronic, mechanical, and software prototyping and development tools, it has become easier than ever to bring your ideas from concept to reality. What’s more, you don’t need to have an engineering degree, or even previous technical experience to quickly pick up these exciting new tools, or to start building. Thanks in part to the enormous library of tutorials and videos that are freely available online, it’s never been easier to learn all the skills you need to get started with your first (or next) engineering project.

Of course, this blog post is on Amazon.com, and I did just write a book that leverages the topics mentioned in this post to teach electrical engineering and programming concepts to just about anybody. You can buy it from Amazon in print format or as a kindle eBook!

  1. Hi Jeremy is so love your site. I am an engineering student in a Kenyan University. I am planning to do a project on image recognition and processing using Arduino software. that recognition part seems to give me nightmares especially because i am thinking of using matlab. I am looking forward to benefiting from this site.

  2. I found Jeremy’s book, “Exploring Arduino”, to be very complete, comprehensive and easy to follow. I highly recommend it to anyone from beginners through advanced developers as a great source of project ideas with the information needed to make it work right the first time, including the source files.

Great job, Jeremy!! I look forward to buying your next book!!

  4. Hi Jeremy. I found your book to be very interesting and well written. I am an Electrical Engineering student and graduated from CAU in 2003. I have been working in the computer field but I maintained a love for Engineering.

Your book is aiding me in regaining an appreciation of electronics as well as being able to combine my computer and EE backgrounds for projects. I look forward to implementing many awesome projects using inspirations from your book and your projects.

  5. Hi Jeremy, very cool guy you are and I want to say I am greatful to you for many things electronics.
Please I want to know if Arduino as a control device can be applied in commercial projects such as automatic door openers and motor drives?
