how do we choose the channel ID … and i also wanted to know if doing so would ensure no interference with other signals been transmitted at these frequencies (others need not be using xbee for wireless..) ..

You can choose the channel ID, so multiple groups don’t interfere with each other.

Just because it originated in BSD doesn’t mean it’s not a linux command. I never said it originated in linux, just that it is a linux command, which it is.
